One of the events at this year’s UK’s Strongest Man currently airing on Challenge TV in the UK, the behind the neck axle press is certainly not common place on the strongman circuit. That said, all the competitors put in a fine display. Eddie Hall, competing in Group A managed a comfortable 190kg to win his group – looking capable of more.
Meanwhile, Ben Kelsey (recognise the name from the u105kg WSM competition?) competing in Group B also secured victory with 190kg. With an eye on the UK record, Ben asked for 200kg to be put on the bar and completed a very easy looking lift. The former discus thrower is clearly familiar with olympic lifting!
