Three days gone and we’ve got another roundup of the current standings.

Group 1 (loading, truck pull, giant dumbbell and car deadlift)

  1. Jean Francois Caron – 20 points
  2. Zydrunas Savickas – 19.5 points
  3. Derek Poundstone – 18.5 points
  4. Mateusz Baron – 11 points
  5. Jack McIntosh – 9 points
  6. Frankie Scheun – 6 points

Group 2 (loading, truck pull, viking press, super yoke and squat)

  1. Mike Jenkins – 24 points
  2. Hafthor Bjornsson – 23.5 points
  3. Nick Best – 17 points
  4. Eddie Hall – 16 points
  5. Akos Nagy – 12.5 points
  6. Sebastian Kurek – 10 points

Group 3 (loading, arm over arm, giant dumbbell and car deadlift)

  1. Brian Shaw – 20.5 points
  2. Martin Wildauer – 17.5 points
  3. Johannes Arsjo – 16 points

Group 4 (loading, limo pull, viking press and squat)

  4. Graham Hicks – 12.5 points

  6. Ole Martin Hansen – 10.5 points

Group 5 (loading, truck pull, viking press, super yoke and car deadlift)

  1. Krzysztof Radzikowski – 25.5 points
  2. Terry Hollands – 25 points
  3. Michael Burke – 18 points
  4. James Fennelly – 15.5 points
  5. Alex Moonen – 15 points
  6. Eben Le Roux – 5 points

The standings are unconfirmed, but providing they are correct it looks like a number of the strongmen have qualified for the final regardless of the outcome of the final event.

Jenkins and Bjornsson have stormed group 2 and have earnt themselves a spot in the final. The remaining competitors of the group will battle it out for third on the atlas stones.

Group 5 sees Hollands and Radzikowski well clear and they’re looking like dead certs for the final. Burke looks set for third but is within Fennelly and Moonen’s reach.

There could be an upset in group 1, with Big Z or Poundstone potentially making a pre-final exit. After Caron’s performance on the deadlift he is deservedly in the number one spot.

The other groups see the favourites at the top but it’s all to play for with the final event(s) to come!
